Boot Jacks, not jackboots

Boot Jacks, not jackboots

This morning I'm finishing up some Boot Jack tests.  There's two pine and two cedar and as you can see, there's three different patterns been used here.  Eventually, once we're happy, they will all be made of hardwood, from the same pattern and be laser engraved before receiving a tough, high gloss finish: built tough for tough Aussie conditions.   But right now we have a play, experiment and finish these perfectly adequate but "not quite there yet" boot jacks and make them available at a price for what they are.  Perfectly imperfect, perfectly useable, with a genuine suede tread.  And yours truly must remember that they are boot jacks, because every time I open my mouth to talk about them, "jack boots" almost comes out.  Maybe at a later date we can create shoe horns?  wonder what will come out of my mouth then?
