What's in a Name?

h'Art of Fire came about as a way to incorporate Deb's ceramic art and her newfound passion for pyrography art. Both age old techniques for creating handmade, one of a kind "fired art from the heart" and so the name (with some help from her lifelong best friend) was born.

Debbie Poole

Debbie Poole is the heart of the fire. Ceramic artist, Mad Hatter, Pyrography Pen Wielder, Leather Worker, Painter, Cork Gluer, Varnisher....she gets it done! An expat Scot from Aberdeenshire, Deb grew up in the country, riding horses and loving country music. These days her horses are her collectible china versions, still handmade by her; she occasionally gets out of the 'burbs for some country fresh air and she's active in her local country music club where she sings lead vocals and helps out as time permits.

Husband Geoff

A Brisbane local, Geoff is the helping hand and Light Burner. When he's not at his day job, he's setting up designs in Light Burn for creating the laser burned coasters and boot jacks. He's also the sidekick at events, roving photographer and videographer, drinks and food go-getter and more! He says Deb has got him involved in the country music cult, and when he's got time he enjoys working on the sound desk!

Ole Grandpa Poole

Woodworker supremo! A former president and now lifetime member of his local woodclub, Ole Grandpa Poole makes our beautiful display boxes for our event stand; he also cuts out the boot jacks for us when he's not busy making other beautiful things from wood.
